Daan Borsje and the crew at Moto Adonis keep turning out some of the classiest custom bikes in the world. Recently, they were tasked by a client to build a cafe racer inspired by Coco Mademoiselle: The Film, starring none other than Keira Knightly on an ivory white Ducati 750 Sport.
The boys from Moto Adonis were more than up to the task, selecting a Yamaha TR1 (XV1000/Virago 1000) for the base. The TR1 offered a 980cc air-cooled v-twin with 69 horsepower, as well as the monoshock suspension whose lines lend themselves so well to custom builds.

TR1 Cafe Racer: In the Builder’s Words
Gwen came to me after her partner got his BMW R1100S overhauled. She said, “I got inspiration from this video of Coco Mademoiselle — I want one but better”:
Of course, that isn’t a problem and we went on with it. We bought an original Rickman front fairing and a Triumph Bonneville gas tank for the matching lines.
We placed a GSXR front fork on it with a Nissin brake and placed a classic set of Harley-Davidson rims with big Shinko tyres. The rear got a huge disc brake with a Brembo brake!
We made a new rear frame and hand-made the cafe racer tail from metal. The seat has been made by Miller Seats. After we put all the pieces together, we painted everything in black and Porsche Elfenbeinweiss (ivory white)!
We made a new stainless steel exhaust with a small muffler. We polished the welts away for a nice clean look. This exhaust can now be bought on our new website: www.mad-exhausts.com
We placed the air filters more direct, which means more air and if done right more powerrrrr.
All the instruments were replaced with a motone buttons and moto gadget blinker relay. The speedo has been replaced for a Moto Gadget Tiny one. Which is integrated in to the Rickman front unit.
It was a lot of work to get it just right, but I think we made ourselves a masterpiece! Well if I’m allowed to say so myself.
